Guernsey Loft Conversion with Juliet Balcony

The brief
A Guernsey homeowner wanted to gain real, usable space in the roof, two rooms and two full bathrooms, without the long programme and disruption a traditional island build can mean, where getting trades and materials to the Channel Islands adds time and cost at every stage.
What we did
We designed and built a bespoke Moduloft off-site in our North Yorkshire factory, then shipped it to Guernsey and craned it into place. The new floor created two rooms and two fully fitted bathrooms, with pitched dormer windows to the front and roof dormers to the rear, and high French doors opening onto a glass-balustrade Juliet balcony. Our team handmade a single-winding staircase, complete with handrail, balustrade and newel post, to reach the new space.
The result
A bright, well-finished new floor delivered to the island with factory precision and a fraction of the on-site disruption, proof that the off-site method is especially suited to Channel Islands homes, where a conventional build is slowest and most expensive.
