Jersey Loft Conversion with Balcony, St Brelade

The brief

This St Brelade home needed a substantial new floor, four rooms and two bathrooms, with a balcony above for the sea air. The brief called for the new floor to sit comfortably alongside the existing hipped roof, finished in vertical and horizontal cedar-style weatherboarding.

What we did

We designed and built the new floor off-site in our North Yorkshire factory, then shipped it over and craned it into place. The finished conversion added 155 sq/m, four rooms and two bathrooms, lit by ten roof windows, with new gables finished in Marley Cedral weatherboarding and a full-width grey aluminium balcony door opening onto the space above. The existing hipped roof was re-battened and tiled to match, tying the whole extension seamlessly into the original house.
