The brief
This single-storey St Brelade bungalow needed a full second floor to become a proper family home, a master bedroom with en-suite, two further double bedrooms and a house bathroom, without the disruption of months of traditional building work.
What we did
We designed and built the new floor off-site in our North Yorkshire factory, then shipped it over and craned it into place. The finished conversion added 72 sq/m, a master bedroom with en-suite, two double bedrooms and a bathroom, lit by two front dormers and ten Velux roof windows, with twin four-block Velux combinations to the rear for extra daylight. Steel grillage and a ring beam were formed to the rear elevation to carry the new loading, with new roofs added over the existing ground-floor bay windows to tie the whole extension together.
