Moduloft Supports Local Charity: Ripon Walled Garden

At Moduloft, we are committed to crafting bespoke timber solutions and, where possible, supporting local communities. Naturally, our projects can sometimes leave us with extra timber that local charities such as Ripon Walled Garden can put to great use for their own projects and activities.

For over 5 years, we have proudly supported Ripon Walled Garden, a charity that aims to create opportunities for people with learning disabilities through a range of activities and services.

As part of the wider ModuGroup business’s Corporate Social Responsibility mission to reduce wastage and support local community organisations, we’re incredibly proud of the relationship we’ve built with Ripon Walled Garden. We expect all of our businesses and brands to support local initiatives and give back to the communities in which they operate, wherever possible.

How Moduloft’s Donations Aid Learning Difficulties Support

Since 2021, we’ve been supplying high-quality timber to Ripon Walled Garden, which is perfectly suited for woodworking activities in their workshop to engage and stimulate their members with learning difficulties. Woodworking itself is known for its mental and physical health benefits, such as relieving stress and practising mindfulness, as well as enhancing fine motor skills and the sensory engagement the wood and tools bring.

It’s also a great way to get creative, work on problem-solving skills, and improve hand-eye coordination. As a community activity, it’s great for bringing people together to work on projects and share techniques and ideas.

For example, Ripon Walled Garden enjoys putting the donated timber to use by building shelves to house their own-produced apple juice, which they sell at the walled garden.

How Ripon Walled Garden Helps the Local Community

Ripon Walled Garden specialises in creating opportunities for people with learning disabilities. They prioritise kindness, individuality and excellence for their team, members, community and customers. Their members are kept at the heart of everything they do, which is why they implement activities to help them live as independently as possible.

The walled garden members were thrilled to receive our latest donation of timber: “We want to say a big thank you to Moduloft, a local Ripon business, who kindly donated wood to Ripon Walled Garden. The Members were very pleased to meet Glyn, who delivered the wood and came to help unload it into our wood shed so Members could say thank you in person.”
